Festival season has started, but the best festival is here, and you can join, even when you don’t have any tickets. The best days in the worldly life are the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah,
according to Quran وَالۡفَجۡرِۙ وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٍۙ ”
By the Dawn; By the ten nights”
Surah al Fajr 89;1-2
and hold great value and is considered sacred by Muslims.
Dhul Hijjah is the 12th and last month of the Islamic Calendar. It means possessor of the pilgrimage and during this month it is advised to perform pilgrimage (Hajj) in Mecca, on the eight, ninth and tenth day if you are able. If not, we have lined up a what-you-can-do list for this Festival.
LINE UP:
Just joking, here are the ways of making the most of these best ten days and benefits you can gain with minimum effort:
· Fasting on the ninth day, Friday 8 July 2022, on the day of Arafah equals you are fasting for two years and expiation from sins of the past and coming year
· Are you on your period? Don’t worry! You can recite Tasbeer (Subhanallah), Tahmeed (Alhamdullilah), optional :Tahleel (La Ilaha illallah) and end with takbeer ( Allahu Akbar) easy to say, but weights heavy on your balance scale, on the day of judgments.
· Praying tahajjud at night is one of the best ways to have a good “talk” with Allah SWT
· Perform Hajj if you are able. This year there were some travel issues with travel agencies and a lot of you couldn’t go unfortunately. May Allah extend sabr and Inshallah one day you can. Also, if you have debts with people you need to make sure you have dealt with them first, before you leave and perform pilgrimage.
· Sacrifice a sheep/goat to god and earn his blessings, Aishah, the third wife of Prophet Muhamad narrated that the Prophet once explained that offering a sacrifice is the best action that a Muslim can perform on Eid. You parents out there are lucky, Prophet Ibrahim had his faith and devotion with god and found the willingness to sacrifice his own son for the sake of Allah SWT, and because of this act we today, can sacrifice a sheep/goat instead.
FO-UR, we are the real “Goat” and will sacrifice a sheep/goat Inshallah, no not personally we requested it via PULO this year, If you want to do so next year, email us, and we will send you details.
· Qurbani(sacrificed meat) is usually split into three portions, one for you and your family, one for friends and relatives, and the third for the poor and downtrodden. And make sure you have set up your intentions before the sacrifice.
· Repentance. Pray and ask for forgiveness.
· Give charity, this can be as simple as a smile

The crescent moon is seen in Arabia. This year Eid al adha will be on Saturday the 9th of July, Insha Allah in The Netherlands. According to Mustafa, during his khotabah in the Mosque, Baitul-Rahmaan, Ridderkerk, june 2022. In the Quran it is stated, the one’s who obeys Allah SWT and his Prophet will receive an amazing reward. And this reward is not only in the life here after but, also here in this life on earth, Duniya. A reward you can find peace in your heart, become closer to Allah SWT, and to find happiness, because you have reached your goal here on earth. What is your goal here on earth? ‘We hebben de mensen en de jins alleen gecreeerd om Allah te bedienen”. We have only created the people and jins to obey God.
